about

Hailing from Milwaukee, Wisconsin -- Climax Denial has been around since at least 2005, a very active live project from the get go, often playing alongside Bloodyminded and the Michigan crew. He has had releases on notable labels like Bloodlust!, Chondritic Sound and Hospital Productions, building a cult following with his deeply personal and unique brand of Power Electronics that incorporates other influences and is never content on replicating itself or other artists.

As some of you know, I'm not the biggest fan of Power Electronics, but there are a few exceptions of course, and when I'm "in the mood" (pun intended) Climax Denial has always been at the top of my list, with a handful of other (mostly European) acts.

I've noticed a recent trend happening with AAD that I'm not at all mad about -- the label is becoming a sanctuary for artists who only occasionally incorporated aspects of Harsh Noise into their catalog, but want to do a release that strictly focuses on that element alone. It's exciting to help facilitate these further explorations when the opportunity arises and when said artists decide to fully hone in on that type of sound specifically.

Climax Denial has always had elements of Harsh Noise in his sonic arsenal, but it wasn't until hearing last years "Asexual Electricity" on Modern Decadence that I fully appreciated how good his non-Power Electronics stuff truly is. After a few repeated listens to the tape I was prompted to contact Alex about doing a similar (albeit longer) release in the same vein. The resulting album is a broad range of various types of classic Harsh Noise by someone who really knows his shit...from stripped down junk metal abuse to dense slabs of abrasive electronics, with just one short sweet dose of his traditional PE style thrown in for good measure.
