about

Following the wildfire themed "Fuoco" tape and the hurricane inspired "Uragani Mortali" CDr, "Terremoto" is the third and final chapter in this "Climatic Harsh Noise" series.

Again, utilizing the same time consuming method of finding very specific sounds to fit the sonic narrative before carefully examining where they all fit together like pieces of a puzzle. The goal is to create a soundtrack to visualize the natural disaster occurring and it's aftermath.

The difference here is that the more quiet moments of previous releases are much more prominent now, and though it does
have plenty of loud aspects, this is easily the most stripped down and minimal of the trilogy, focused more on harnessing tension and repetition and less on the rapid cuts and excessive dynamic shifts of past efforts.

No effects were used, just raw organic sounds collaged super loud to tape then transferred back to digital, rendering the final mixes with a warm, fuzzy and blown out sound.

Sources on this one include amateur footage from various
earthquakes, crumbling dirt, scraping rocks, creaking trees and dry crunching leaves.
