"Suspended in Nihilistic Tranquility" is Dull World's magnum opus -- two lengthy pieces each spanning an entire disc, influenced by the correlations between Nihilism, Hamlet and the artists own personal philosophies.

On previous releases Dull World has already proven it can bludgeon the listener with the heaviest walls...but this material is a departure from that more savage approach and can be considered to be more sophisticated, not only sonically, but the overall process was much more gentle and carefully executed, making it a far more ambitious and inspired work of psychoacoustic exploration.

The main objective was to take a single sound source and obsessively study it, discovering it's full dynamic range with patient, surgical like precision and meticulous equalization of the audio signals therein.

The first track actually ended up being hardly a source at all, as it was merely caused by the quiet hum of two effects pedals just being turned on with no input, while track two was generated by a "gray noise" app played through cell phone and grunge pedal.

"Experts describe gray noise as a noise that has more power at the top of the frequency spectrum and at the bottom of the spectrum, with less density in the middle of the spectrum. Scientists point out that this complements the acoustics of the human ear, so that to a listener, it sounds like every frequency is equally loud. Others have described gray noise as sounding like a three-dimensional kind of sound, or a sound that is not flat, but has some depth to it."
